remain and label all active circuits at intervals of 3'0" on center with tags having the
following notation: "DANGER LIVE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT. ELECTROCUTION HAZARD"
3.02 EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS:
A. The Contractor shall prepare a Health and Safety plan for emergencies, including fire, accident,
power failure, negative air system failure, or any other event that may require modification or
abridgement of decontamination or Work Area isolation, which must be reviewed and approved
by Ambient Group, Inc, prior to the start ofwork. Note that nothing in this Specification should
impede safe exiting or providing of adequate medical attention in the event of an emergency.
B. The Contractor shall provide barricades and adequate protection to safely prevent accidental
entrance to the abatement area byany non-authorized personnel.
C. First aid shall comply with the governing regulations and all recognized recommendations within
the construction industry.
3.03 RESPIRATORY AND WORKER PROTECTION:
A. Before proceeding beyond this point in providing Temporary Enclosures:
1. Provide Worker Protection per Section 09.
2. Provide Respiratory Protection per Section 10.
3. Provide Personnel Decontamination Unit per Section 11.
3.04 EMERGENCY EXITS:
A, Provide emergency exits and emergency lighting as set forth below:
1. At each existing exit door from the Work Area, provide the following means for
emergency exiting:
a. Arrange exit door so that it is secure from outside the Work Area but permits
exiting from the Work Area.
b. Mark outline of door on Primary and Secondary Barriers with luminescent paint
at least 1" wide. Hang a razor knife on a string beside the outline. Arrange
Isolation and Primary barriers so that they can be easily cut with one pass of
razor knife. Paint the words "EMERGENCY EXIT' inside the outline with
luminescent paint in letters at least one foot high and 2" thick with an orange or
red arrow pointing towards the exit.
3.05 WORK AREA PREPARATION:
A. Preparation of the Work Areas shall proceed in the following sequence;
1. The Contractor shall construct barriers segregating the Work Area from non-Work
Areas, where required.
