10 RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 STANDARDS;
A. Except to the extent that more stringent requirements are written directly into the Design Documents, the following regulations and standards have the same force and effect (and are made a part of the Design Documents by reference) as if copied directly into the Design Documents, or as if published copies were bound herewith. Where there is a conflict in requirements set forth in these regulations and standards, the Contractor shall meet the more stringent requirement.
1. OSHA - U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Safety and Health Standards 29 CFR 1910.134.
2. ANSI - American National Standard Practices for Respiratory Protection, ANSI Z88.2.
3. NIOSH - National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
4. Public Health Service, Department of Health and Human Services - 42 CFR Part 84.
1.02 DELIVERY;
A. Deliver replacement parts, etc., not otherwise labeled by NIOSH, to the job site in manufacturer's containers.
1.03 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS;
A. Respiratory Protection Program; Comply with ANSI Z88.2" Respiratory Protection", and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations.
B. Respiratory protection shall be used at all times that there is a possibility of disturbance of contaminated materials whether intentional or accidental.
C. A respirator shall be worn by everyone in a Work Area at all times, regardless of activity, during a period that starts with any operation that could cause airborne contaminated dust to be disturbed until the area has been cleared for re-occupancy.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATORS;
A. Provide, at a minimum, HEPA type filters labeled with NIOSH and MSHA Certification for "Radionuclides, Radon Daughters, Dust, Fumes, Mists including Asbestos-Containing Dusts and Mists" and color-coded in accordance with ANSI Z88.2. In addition, a chemical cartridge section
