04 CODES, REGULATIONS, AND STANDARDS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 CODES AND REGULATIONS:

A. All work under this Design Document shall be done in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations, standards and codes governing asbestos abatement and any other trade work done in conjunction with the abatement.

B. The most recent edition of any relevant regulation, standard, document or codes shall be in effect. Where conflict among the requirements or with this design exists, the most stringent requirements shall be utilted.

C. Copies of all standards, regulations, codes and other applicable documents, including this design shall be available at the worksite in the clean change area of the worker decontamination system. These documents will be supplied by the Contractor. Applicable regulations include but are not limited to the following:

D. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

1. Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Section 1910.134 - General Industry Standard for Respiratory Protection.

2. Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Section 1910.1020 - Access to Employee Exposure and Medical Records.

3. Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Section 1910.1200 - Hazard Communication.

4. Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Section 1910.145 - Accident Prevention Signs and Tags.

E. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

1. Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 61.145 - Standard for Demolition and Renovation: Notification Requirements.

F. State Requirements: Abide by any applicable state administrative codes, rules and/or statutes that may apply.

G. Local Requirements: Abide by any local requirements that mayapply.

1.02 STANDARDS:

A. Standards that may apply to abatement work or hauling and disposal of waste materials include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
