1. The Abatement Contractor shall bring only properly decontaminated and cleaned equipment to the worksite for use. Contaminated equipment will not be allowed on the site.
2. All equipment (ladders, scaffolds, negative air units) shall be properly decontaminated and/or wrapped and sealed in two layers of 6-mil polyethylene sheeting prior to removal from the Work Area(s).
B. Abatement Materials Requirements: Include but are not limited to:
1. Wetting agent: A mixture of (50% Polyoxyethylene Ester and 50% Polyoxyethylene Ether) in a concentration of 1 ounce to 5 gallons of water. The Abatement Contractor must submit a material data safety sheet on the product used to the Client. 2. HEPA Vacuums: The system shall be in proper working order and provide filtration to 99.97% for particles with a mean aerodynamic diameter greater than 0.3 pm. In addition, the Abatement Contractor shall have on hand appropriate attachments for cleaning floors, crevices, etc. 3. Polyethylene Sheeting: Shall be of a 6-mil minimum thickness, fire retardant and in a size appropriate to minimize seams and non-movable equipment. 4. Polyethylene Bags (6-mil minimum thickness): To provide air/water tight seal for disposal of waste material and labeled in accordance with OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1926.58K(2) and current NESHAPS Regulations Section 61.150(v) and all applicable USDOT regulations. 5. Appropriate tools: For scraping and removing all asbestos waste from the removal site, (i.e., scrapers, tin-snips, plastic shovels) 6. Tape/glue: High quality duct tape and spray adhesive glue to adequately maintain an airtight seal.
7. Hand power tools shall be equipped with HEPA filtered local exhaust ventilation.
C. Electrical Equipment: 1. The Abatement Contractor shall provide all equipment, including extensions and temporary lighting, needed to perform his work. Electrical isolation of all work areas shall be performed by the on-site electrical contractor.
2. All electrical work shall be performed by the on-site electricians in compliance with the most recent edition of the National Electric Code, unless otherwise provided by OSHA regulations.
3. The non-current carrying metal parts of fixed, portable and plug-connected equipment shall be grounded. Portable tools and appliances protected by an 10
