Subject; Procedures for damaged compressed gas cylinders
DAMAGED CYLINDER PROCEDURE
The following procedure shall be followed when finding any cylinder either damaged or
improperly stored.
I. Between the hours of 7;00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. contact Deputy Chief Inspector Stephen
Addeo at (917) 468-2760.
2. ?\f;er hours contact EPA hot line at 1-203-627'9332.
3. If the valve is damaged or missing do not move tank, Notify Sector Chief. Sector Chief
will notify Operations Command Post who will then contact Haz-Mat Operations for
further instructions.
4. A special cage for damaged cylinders is located near East Sector Command Post. This is
the only approved location for damaged cylinders.
