In your letter (attached) you ask for information pertaining to water and
sewer breaks, emergency repairs and shut offs. Unfortunately, this
information is not under the jurisdiction of the Mapping and Records office.
These maps are based on the best information available for the water mains
and appurtenances in the streets contiguous to this area. Please be advised
that water mains are normally installed at depths ranging from 42" to 48".
Requests for information can be mailed to the above-mentioned address or
faxed to (718) 595-5781. Please make sure you clarify specific street limits or
forward a clear site plan. Requests for information should be submitted to
this office at least two (2) weeks before the beginning of any work. Requests
for sewer as builts will not be processed through this office. If information is
needed in relation to sewer as built drawings, locations of sewers,
water/sewer permits and connections contact the Manhattan borough office
