Dear Mr. Lu/czak: Robert C. Avaltroni Deputy Commissioner This is in reference to our earlier conversations regarding sidewalk closures in the WTC vicinity in order to facilitate the cleaning of exterior debris. The Bureau of Environmental cleaning program resulted from multiple agency cooperation and coordination for Compliance the removal of debris from the collapse of the WTC.
We hereby request a waiver of fees related to the sidewalk closures. The NYC DEP has emergency contracts with three contractors for the removal of debris and is responsible for coordination and oversight of the exterior cleaning program.
