Dear Building Owner; Recently, you responded to a survey we sent you concerning your property in the wake of September 11 At that time, many owners wated that there were issues revolving around the air quality and other health-related concerns

The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a hotline number, 1 -877- 796’5471, that owners can call to have their apartments professionally cleaned, including carpets, draperies, upholstery, air conditioners and terraces. EPA will return the following day and test for in-air asbestos. All this will be done at no charge to the homeowner.

In addition, EPA in conjunction with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will dean the exteriors of buildings to remove any dust or possible asbestos particles that may be present. DEP also has an Asbestos Control number -- (718) 595-3718 ~ that homeowners may call to inquire about the merior cleaning. V

If you need any additional information, please feel free to contact me at (212) 863-7019. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Anthony Smdlenski Director, Program Support I
