Gail -- If people have the time to devote, I'd love for the Civic Alliance green building committee (or a new configuration of it) get back together and start pressing these very important issues. Is there interest in having a meeting/ setting an agenda?

Subject: Sustainable buildings for WTC site

Now that the Port Authority and the LMDC are looking to Libeskind to oversee all the development projects at the WTC site, I am wondering if it isn't an appropriate time for the Civic Alliance to press for the inclusion of sustainable design principles in the development of the site.

I'm not sure what the best way to do that is strategically, but maybe it would involve setting up a meeting with Libeskind, either separately or together with PA and LMDC representatives. Maybe also a letter that goes to a broader group, and efforts to build wider support for this sort of approach to the rebuilding process.

Please let me know what you think.
