EPA and ATSDR in cooperation and under foe direction of the New York City DEP assisfs in the identification of a small sampling ot apartments ciftcr—' prototype targets determined by EPA/ ATSDR. NYC OEM will provide a listing of polential apartrnente/buildings identified as still "uncleaned" and "vacant". EPA/ ATSDR will within this listing identify 4 to 6 apartments for clean and test protocols. Jointly with selected NYC agencies EPA/ ATSDR will pretest the identified apartments for know pollutants beyond the baseline normally present in an urban environment. • The Apartments would be cleaned using techniques identified by the EPA/ ATSDR as historically effective for cleaning in the situations identified. Cleaning techniques will vary to determine the most effective or combination of effective methods to meet the desired results. • Post cleaning testing will be performed to measure the effectiveness to make the above determinations • EPA/ ATSDR will provide the City with the prototype results and recommended cleaning processes. The results may be used to verify already released cleaning recommendations provided over the duration of this incident. • The estimated duration of the testing, cleaning and final recommendations will be Dterformed over a 7 day period • City will maintain the leadership in this process and will utilize all results in its I environmental strategy arid the development df meSia releases in conjunction with I the overall plan to address interior cleaning
