EPA Background Study • EPA is currently working on the statement of work (SOW). • 14 buildings will be studied; two residential units and one common area per building. • Several technical and logistical issues came up: - Air sampling for dioxin and PAHs requires high volume sampling and it is not feasible in residential spaces. - The defensibility of microvac sampling is in question. Wipe sampling is usually preferred. - Agressive air sampling methods are preferred yet not practical in all areas. - The sampling environments will not be controlled. • Working Group members should E-mail Carol Lynes with any additional comments or questions.
