I have a draft letter for you, prepared by DEP, to send to Mr. O'Grady. Everyone at DEP has been in contact - at various times - with Mr. O'Grady regarding his issues. I even have a copy of a letter DEP's General Counsel's office sent to O'Grady in May of this year, and a letter from Schatt's office sent in March, Mr. O'Grady is exploring every venue to air his issues, but refuses to show up at ECB to discuss the violations. Ann and her staff have repeated told him to come in, have postponed hearings.... There is a long history here. However, most recently, Mr. O'Grady made allegations regarding the conduct of one of the inspectors. Therefore, he was referred by Egan to dive.
I will fax you a copy of the letter Ann and Mike prepared, as well as the other letters sent to Mr. O'Grady.
As for his phone calls to your office, you may want to have your staff advise him to call Clive Morrick (212) 442-0194. Please let me know what you think, and I will be glad to follow up.
