MIDTOWN-WEST: OPTIONS FOR MID-MANHATTAN'S LAST FRONTIER December 8, 2000

The Steven L. Newman Institute invites you to join us for the New York Real Estate Forum's 2000 Development Conference. The Conference this year focuses on arguably the single most impor- tant development concern facing the City and region -- the future of the west side of Midtown between 30th and 57th streets, from Eighth Avenue to the Hudson River. The Forum's Development Conference is made possible this year through the generosity of Mr. Julien Studley, president of Julien Studley Associates and a member of the Institute's Advisory Board. Your lunch invitation is through the courtesy of the Advisory Board. Attendance is limited to one hundred twenty-five persons. We urge you to make your reservation expeditiously. The next major public event in the Institute's 2000-2001 academic year series is the Industry-Government Series Seminar assessing "Sprawl and the Future of Real Estate Development in the New York Metropolitan Region. " Professor Fred Siegel (of The Cooper Union) will specially serve with the Institute as the guest coordina- tor. The Seminar is organized in coordination with the Center for Urban Policy Research of Rutgers University, to ensure a compre- hensive regional overview and a clear sense of the impact of regional sprawl on New York City. The 2001 New York Real Estate Forum City Roundtable will focus on real estate and development futures in Queens, and is orga- nized in cooperation with the Office of the Borough President, Claire Shulman. The Forum's 2001 Finance Conference, scheduled for June, will focus on financing issues affecting the development of middle-income housing in the city.
