RE: Establishment of Special Relief Fund
At its meeting on September 20, 2001, the Board of Directors approved the recommendation of the Executive Committee to create a $5,000,000.00 special relief fund for those employees affected by the horrific events of September
This special fund will be administered pursuant to conditions and guidelines to be established by the Trustees of the Health Benefits Fund.
The $5,000,000.00 will be held in a special relief fund created under the auspices of the Health Benefits Fund and will not require any additional contributions or payments by any contributing employer. This special fund will be established from the contributions regularly received from contributing employers.
Once the goal of $5,000,000.00 has been attained, all contributions regularly made by the employers will continue to be used to meet the cost of providing the current benefits.
