Attached are the laboratory results for airborne asbestos samples collected at the above referenced • location. These samples were collected and analyzed by Accredited Environmental Technologies, • Inc. for comparison with the clearance standards for airborne asbestos established by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection Asbestos Control Program (Title 15, Chapter 1). Sample collection occurred under normal occupancy conditions on October 18 and ■ October 19, 2001. All samples were collected with high volume sampling pumps with sample durations of approximately four to six hours and are considered representative of background fiber concentrations throughout the first five floors of the building.

Results indicate that fiber concentrations in the background samples were all below 0.01 F/cc, a level considered acceptable for occupancy according to the Department of Environmental Protection standards.

• Samples were analyzed by Phase Contrast Microscopy per NIOSH Method 7400 for asbestos . fibers. This method measures total airborne fibers and does not distinguish fiber morphology. All structures with a length to diameter ratio of 3 to I or greater and a length greater than 5 microns, are considered to be fibers and are counted as such.
