These samples were collected and analyzed by Accredited Environmental Technologies, ■ Inc. for comparison with the clearance standards for airborne asbestos established by the New York City Department of Environmentat Protection Asbestos Control Program (Title 15, ■ Chapter 1). Sample collection occurred under normal occupancy conditions on November 1, 2001. All samples were collected with high volume sampling pumps with sample durations of ■ approximately five hours and are considered representative of background fiber concentrations . throughout the first three floors of the building.

■ Results indicate that fiber concentrations in the background samples were all below 0.01 F/cc, a level considered acceptable for occupancy according to the Department of Environmental ■ Protection standards.

■ Samples were analyzed by Phase Contrast Microscopy per NIOSH Method 7400 for asbestos fibers. This method measures total airborne fibers and does not distinguish fiber morphology.
