RE: Ventilation System Inspection; 330 Rector St.; 395 South End Ave; 45 Wall St. EMTEQUE Project No. 02100629

Dear Mr. Radhakrishnan:

We visited the subject locations on October 18, 2002 to determine the extent of visual WTC dust contamination of various ventilation systems servicing the common/public areas at the subject addresses. In summary, it appeared that the air-handlers and ductwork easily available for inspection were either cleaned or did no! reveal any fallout characteristics of WTC dust. 330 Rector St. Laundry Room System- Below grade outside air supply/exhaust louvers had normal amount of lint/dust buildup. internal ductwork and fan housing were not available for inspection.

Rooftop Air Handler (Services the building corridors) The AHU was clean with new filters (there was minute amounts of possible WTC fallout around the internal insulation). Although the horizontal ductwork on the roof had dust buildup, it was from a pre-existing condition (no signs of WTC dust). An associated wall supply diffuser was inspected on the 12" floor. Similarly, no visual evidence of WTC dust was present

395 South End Avenue (Gateway) A supply and exhaust system was inspected in the basement. Access doors were available to observe the ductwork upstream of the associated fans, No evidence of WTC fallout was noticed.

43 Wall St, (residential building empty prior to 9/11) - Basement air handlers were relatively clean with no evidence of WTC dust. Outside air louvers had dust buildup with some evidence of WTC dust although most of it was from pre-existing conditions. Observed AHU serving the Club was clean (horizontal duct from wall could have WTC dust but needs access panels for irspection). (An apartment was inspected which had its window open and did have WTC dust).

The above inspected addresses ventilation systems contained little or no visible WTC dust and in my professional opinion the areas being served by these system are suitable for public occupancy.

Please call me if you have any questions.
