The fifteen (15) duct s2tmples were collected 'between masonry paving stones on the tw v:y- fourth floor Sky Lounge balcony, The dust samples were art analyzed using Polarized Li ;ht Microscopy(PLM)and Jive(5)ofthe fifteen (15) ware found to have a trace amount(less that one percent)of asbestos_

A material •is considered in be aabcatois containing material ifit contains more than 1% asbestos using the PLM method_ The PLM method only counts the linger asbestos filers_ Therefore,ifresults by PLM are negative(g> ter than I%•aabestos), the sample is then analyzed by the Transmission Electron Microscopy(ITEM)method that does covert the smaller fibers. However,TEM analy:'is is not used for regulatory purposes for dust samples.
