Dear Sir/Madam,
Regarding your letter of Feb. 12 about maintenance and cleanup of 162 Chambers Street due to the World Trade Center tragedy, first it is a storage building, not residential.
The building maintenance man, John Spinks, has pressure washed the sidewalk and the front of the building four times and has cleaned up the interior three times. He has also cleaned the roof twice. We have installed air purifiers on all floors and at this time the filters are clean. Mr. Spinks is at the building Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday every week. The telephone number is (212) 227-2796.
Regardless of your letter we continue to clean the building and are sad about this terrible event and the loss of business in the neighborhood. We have donated $15,000 to the families of Fire Squad 288 who had a terrible loss of men.
