WORK PROCEDURES
The following procedures shall be followed for the removal of the
microbial contaminated drywall
surfaces from tower floors 26 through 55 as identified on the
attached drawings.
1. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing trained, experienced
and qualified workers
for this project.
2. Drawings identify locations where visible growth has been observed
along with an estimated
quantity of affected drywall surface
3. The Contractor shall abide by all health and safety requirements
including NYC Department
of Health Guidelines for fungi remediation. It is the
responsibility of the Contractor to
provide adequate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
including protective clothing,
respiratory protection in accordance with OSHA 1910.134, and
the workers and inspectors involved in the microbial cleanup decontamination facilities to
and sanitization.
4. Removal of affected drywall surfaces identified as affected
shall be as follows:
a. Small Isolated Areas (30 sq. ft or less).
(1). One (1) layer of plastic sheeting shall be placed on
the floor directly under the
sheetrock to act as a drop cloth.
(2). Materials to be removed shall be lightly misted with a

disinfectant for dust
suppression prior to removal
(3). The Sub-contractor must use a HEPA vacuum in
cutting and removal. conjunction with sheetrock
(4). All contaminated absorbed wall and/or ceiling
drywall shall be removed and
placed in six mil plastic bag for disposal. Contractor
the affected areas and an additional 2'-0" shall remove sheetrock in
beyond the affected adjacent planar
surface. Do not extend cutting into other significant

remove as much drywall as possible adjacent to affected surfaces,
and spray the remaining surfaces with
disinfectant.
(8). Affected areas shall be allowed to thoroughly
dry prior to-closing openings.
