Importance: High
Mike, I believe that we need to allow one extra week before the start of our reclamation project for 114 Liberty. We have been working hard to ensure that all of the pieces are in place for the work to begin, but a couple of areas are still uncertain. In addition, I'd like everyone to meet with you on Wednesday (tomorrow) and then to have time to go through their apartments before doing a final walk through with you and your contractors. The bad weather of a couple of weeks ago delayed our efforts, and also delayed this critical meeting.
The primary areas at risk are: Removal of all cabinetry from the walls in apartments choosing to do so. This should be completed by Wednesday of next week. A few windows need adjustments. They have not arrived at the building yet, and might not be completed until next week. We are having trouble getting Con Ed to switch the electricity on the building over to the condo meter. This is necessary for us to get electricity on every floor.
We prefer to set a hard date which we know we can all make rather than press for a date that we may not make. We would also like to know who the contractor is and review their estimates prior to having them work in our building. I have no doubt that you have executed this project in the quickest and most complete way. We will still be more comfortable after we review everything, since these are our homes which we are turning over to your contractors.
Can we please plan to start the cleaning on Friday, March 7th. This will also allow us to gather all of the signed documents and work through any issues individuals might have with the project.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Regards, Dave Stanke
