The two air handling units on the roof were opened and visible debris was cleaned out. A visual inspection was conducted and Certification was issued. The Certifications are in Appendix 1.

2.1.2 Ducts on the First Floor

Ducts above the First Floor ceiling were cut open in several locations. Visible debris and dust were cleaned out using High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuums and wet wiping.

2.1.3 Hallway Ventilation Units

The grills on all floors were sealed with polyethylene. Air was forced into the system on the 14th Floor. The grills were then removed from the system on the Second Floor hallway. Settled dust and debris were removed by HEPA vacuuming and wet wiping.

2.1.4 Courtyard Air Intakes

The courtyard air intakes were sealed with plastic. A duct was attached to an opening made in the plastic at each location. The duct was connected to an air filtration unit that sucked air from each of the air intakes through a HEPA filter.

3.0 WIPE SAMPLES

Wipe samples were collected at six locations in the common area ventilation ducts. These samples were analyzed qualitatively for asbestos. No visible asbestos was found in any of the samples. The results of these samples are in Appendix 2.

4.0 CONCLUSSIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS

• The ventilation ducts were cleaned of debris caused by the World Trade Center collapse.

• New filters should be placed in all systems prior to re-starting,
