« 27 bulk samples were collected from undisturbed loose material within the rasiricted area o 'Notltlng of concern was found rsgarding meta! analysis

Air Samples AsbssiQS • 3 personal samples and 3 area air samples were collected by NIOSH investigators o All task-based concentrations were below 0.0.5 fsbers/cc as determined by TEM analysis • Additional atr samples 'Acre collected by NYDOH ccntractors (.26 personal and 4 area) o .Personal sample 8-hour time-weighted average c-oncsYitrations were below 0.05 fifaers/cc as determined by PCM o 3 personal samples were analyzed by TEM, all were less than 0,004 fjbers/cc o Aj*ea sample results were below 0 04 fibw&'cc as determined by PCM Tu(al Diisi • 17 air samples were collected for total dust (7 personal and 10 area) o Personal sample 8-hour rime-weighted average concentrations were below l.C mg'nri o Area sample concentrations were below 1.7 mg-'m" Mslal.s • 17 air samples were collected for metals (7 persona! and 19 area) o Nothing O’’ concern was found regarding metal analysis Carbon A'fonoxide • 5 real-time personal breathing zone .samples were collected for carbon monoxide o All 8-hour time-weighted average concentrations were below 3 ppm Q A .single peak of 79 ppm was obsen-ed on a city transit worker Kola/iie Of^nic Compon/ids (VOCs) • fS air samples were collected on thermal desorption tubes (used as a screening technique) c Compounds identified included benzene, toluene, and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons which have been attributed to products of combustion o Concentration* of VOCs on all .samples were well below Cfitablished limits • 19 air sample.? were collected with charcoal adsorbent tubes o Concenrrations of VOCs on all samples were below detectable limits
