Re: Limited settled dust bulk sampling for fiberglass at Murray Bergtraum H,S. (M52O) 411 Pearl Street New York, New Ycrk 10038

Dear Mr. Orlan;

At your request, ATC Associates, Inc. representative Mr. Mark Nakliumovich visited Mun'ay Bergtraum H.S. (M520) located at 411 Pearl Street, New York, NY 10038 on September 9, 2002. The purpose of the site visit was to perfonm a settled dust bulk sampling to be analyzed for fiberglass fiber content on areas indicated to ATC by the New York City Department of Education (NYC-DOE). These areas are the following:

• U‘Floor Lobby • Cafeteria • 1 Floor, 2”" Floor, 1'" Floor, 4”' Floor, 5"’ Floor, Basement Hallway • Auditorium • Two random classrooms

The purpose of the dust bulk sampling is to determine if settled dust in the school contains fiberglass fibers.

As per your request, a total of ten (11) settled dust bulk samples were collected from the aforementioned areas and v ere analyzed utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).

Analytical results indicateci that none of the ten (11) collected settled dust bulk samples contain fiberglass fibers.

The settled dust bulk sampling performed was limited to testing for fiberglass in locations indicated by the NYC-DOE.
