Re: Respirable Particulate Sampling High School of Economics and Finance (M833) ATC Project No. 15-19125-0291

Dear Mr. Orlan:

ATC Associates Inc. (ATC) is pleased to provide this report of respirable particulate sampling conducted on October 2-3, 2002, at the referenced school. The New York City Department of Education (DOE) requested this monitoring to verify that acceptable indoor air quality is being maintained.

SCOPE OF WORK

ATC conducted this evaluation to assess the concentration of respirable particulates (PM, 3) v/ithin the building.

One (1) sample for respirable particulates (PM, 5) was collected for twenty-four (24) hours using a Micro Environmental Monitor® (MEM®), manufactured by SKC, Inc. The sample was collected on a pre-weighed PVC filter supplied and analyzed by PSC Analytical Services, Inc., an American Industrial Hygiene Association-accredited laborator]/ in Reading, PA. A copy of the analytical laboratory report is attached.

Wagdi Abdelshahid, Industrial Hygienist of ATC’s New York City office, conducted the sampling consistent with generally accepted indoor air quality assessment practices. The result of the sampling represents conditions found on the date the sample was collected.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Currently, there are no regulatory standards for indoor air quality in non-industrial buildings, such as offices and schools.
