Re: Respirable Particulate Sampling P.S.234M ATC Project No. 15-19125-0279

Dear Mr. Orlan:

ATC Associates Inc, (ATC) is pleased to provide this report of respirable particulate sampling conducted on October 2-3, 2002, in the referenced school building. The New York City Department of Education (DOE) requested this sampling to verify that acceptable indoor air quality is being maintained.

SCOPE OF WORK

ATC conducted this evaluation to assess the concentration of respirable particulates (PM2,s) within the building.

ATC collected one 24-hour sample of PMj.s for gravimetric analysis using a Micro Environmental Monitor® (MEM®), manufactured by SKC, Inc. The sample was collected on a pre-weighed PVC filter supplied and analyzed by PSG Analytical Services, Inc., an American Industrial Hygiene Association-accredited laboratory in Reading, PA.

Wagdi Abdelshahid, Industrial Hygienist of ATC’s New York City office, conducted the sampling consistent with accepted indoor air quality assessment practices. The results of the sampling represent conditions found on the date the sample was collected.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Currently, there are no regulatory standards for indoor air quality in non-industrial buildings, such as offices and schools.
