Dear Mr. Orlan:

ATC Associates Inc. (ATC) is pleased to provide this report of the results of wipe samples for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) collected on August 22, 2002, at the referenced locations. The New York City Department of Education (DOE) requested this requested this sampling to evaluate possible contamination inside the school.

Scope of Work

The samples for PCBs were collected using sterile gauze pads and hexane as a solvent. The solvent was provided and samples were analyzed by PSC Analytical Services, Inc. (PSC), an American Industrial Hygiene Association-accredited laboratory in Reading, PA. The PCB analysis was performed using EPA Method 8082B.

Tenzin Namgyal, Industrial Hygienist of ATC’s New York City office, collected the samples consistent with generally accepted industrial hygiene practices. There were inherent limitations created by constraints of time, operational and work practice variability, variations in contaminant concentrations, and sampling and analytical accuracy. The results of the sampling represent conditions found on the dates the samples were collected.

Results

ATC submitted three (3) samples and a blank for PCBs analysis to PSC Analytical Services. A copy of the analytical laboratory report is provided in the Attachment.

The areas sampled were; the Lobby-Main Entrance, 2'“’ floor Hallway by Room 210 and J''' door Hallway by Room 327. The surface area was 100 square centimeters (100cm’).
