flexibility in electronic/communications distribution. The telecommunications and data communications systems use fiber optics with high redundancy and flexibility at local switching levels. Backup for the electrical systems is provided by six separate power feeds, a UPS system, and 12 MW auxiliary power available from on-site emergency generators.

Water storage tanks with a 200,000 gallon capacity are available to supply the cooling towers in the event of water failure. Chiller capacity is 4,000 tons. Rejected heat from the computers and support machinery heat the almost 600,000 SF of administrative office spaces. Preaction sprinklers and a dry-halon 1301 full-flooding system provide fire pro­ tection.
