TKLP's integrated, full-service planning and design services are provided by specialty groups. The Data Processing Center group includes architects and engineers with sp>ecialized experi ence in data center design, communications, security and reliability. We have designed non-mission-critical centers through hardened, highly reliable, command centers for the De partment of Defense. We have designed centers with raised floors of 5,000 SF through 120,000 SF. We have performed complete reliability programs, including modeling operations and maintenance, construction testing, user interface, and system design. We have given semi nars, are published, and have consulted internationally on data center design. TKLP has prepared a design guideline manual on data center design starting from strategic planning through commissioning and operations.

TKLP has provided the A/E design for the Merrill Lynch data center in New York City as well as the MEP design for the Shearson Lehman Brothers data center in New York City. We know how to work in New York City. TKLP has a much greater depth of services in data centers than most MEP consultants. Some of these items include, cabling, security, reliability, strategic planning, testing of building systems to commission them, assistance in the management of the testing process, training of the data center's operations personnel, preparation of system operating manuals for the operating personnel's reference. This experience allows TKLP the understanding of what is needed in a design to operate, maintain, and run a reliable data center.
