Dear Colleague:

While the shock and grief caused by the tragedies of September 11th sink in, we at Essential find ourselves dealing with a combination of sympathy and commitment. Our sympathy is for the victims and heroic responders while our commitment is to using all of our skills and professional experience to help you plan for and respond to any type of incident. Emergency management is our business and has been for 25 years. For the future, our lasting tribute to the memory of the Attack on America must be to Prepare America.

The cruelty of the terrorist events is contrasted by the resolve of Essential - as a corporate citizen of America - to do everything necessary to apply our software and services to our new task at hand, "Prepare America." We are ready to help in any way possible to assist your organization with its emergency management needs. We have put in place a series of programs that give the highest priority and expedited processing to military installations, disaster and emergency service departments, and corporate security offices. We have re-instituted our Industry/Government Partnership which allows a corporation to sponsor a government agency and provide free software for counter-terrorism planning and response in order to make the whole community safer.

in the next few days we will return to publishing Essential Express with a special issue on Prepare America. Until then, please know that during these difficult times you can call on us to help with your critical emergency preparedness needs. We have established a Prepare America Coordinator for this purpose who can be reached at 301-284-3522 or 800-999-5009.

Joining you in a commitment to Prepare America,

Jim
