Dear colleagues: Attached are some brief draft notes and next meetings for the Task Force. Please let me know if you have any corrections/updates. I was working with the phone conference, so tell me if I missed or misinterpreted something. Thank you, Lee 1. Firstly, I apologize to anyone who got cut off on the phone. 2. EPA and FEMA have had ongoing discussions of requirements for funding. A fuller discussion of the status of these efforts and the next steps for indoor air will take place at the next Task Force meeting on Wednesday. 3. Sam Benson reported on organizing a future national effort to discuss coordinated environmental response for future disasters. He will be developing a funding proposal and seeks input from any interested task force members. 4. HPD has completed a survey of 2,264 buildings below Canal and is in the process of putting the Information, including photos, into a database. 5. On the data front, Doug Williamson of PlanGraphics will me taking a new position, and OEM will discuss with DOITT how to move our efforts forward. Doug, Vince Coluccio, and the data group have a building blueprint map that is ready for environmental data. They will start with data for asbestos. The group will meet on Tuesday. 6. OEM will look into the "eyesores" issue - who has the data of buildings close to the site that have not been cleaned? 7. EPA, ATSDR, and NYCDOH are seeking ten more buildings to include in the study of background data. HPD will provide a list of 30 candidate buildings by 26 April. 8. DOS provided to Jim Miller the contact info for sidewalk cleaning enforcement. 9. The legal committee believes that agencies can gain access to buildings' common areas for inspections (if landlords will not voluntarily cooperate) through access warrants in the supreme or housing court. The Contaminants of Concern group will need to provide a list of what is "bad enough" to warrant such action, and someone may need to be prepared to testify to such. 10. The Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel group will meet on Monday to discuss procedures for obtaining reimbursement for ULSD differential costs given FEMA's letter and the status of NESCAUM pilot efforts.
