Air Conditioner/Air Purifier/HEPA filter Vacuum Reimbursement New York City residents in all five boroughs are eligible for up to $1550 reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for air conditioners, air purifiers, and HEPA filter vacuum cleaners. For information on eligibility, registration, and reimbursement, contact FEMA at 1-800-462-9029.

Blood Donation As of August 1,2002, the New York Blood Center (NYBC) has seen a dramatic 25% drop-off in donations, forcing a 25% cutback in distribution of some universal blood types to area hospitals.
