As a result of repeated concerns expressed by building occupants, the building owner initiated additional air sampling on March 7, 2003. Air samples were collected on the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors. The samples were analyzed by PCM and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The samples were below the clearance levels of O.Olf'cc for PCM samples and 70 s/mm^ for TEM samples.
Although the results of several previous site visits and the review of submitted air sampling results did not indicate a requirement for further action, the building owner agreed to re-clean the carpet on the 9th and 10th floors based on my request. Wet extraction procedures were utilized and follow-up air sampling was performed by BEC. The results were reviewed by BEC and OEHSC and found to be below the clearance levels.
