Re: Nightclub Enforcement Statistics
The Department regulates food service establishments, as defined in the New York City Health Code a food service is an establishment where food is provided for individual portion service on the premises or sold ready to eat for off-premises consumption. All inspections conducted by the Department are performed by Public Health Sanitarians. In conducting inspections, the Department looks for current, valid permit to operate, and inspects the food processing operation for proper food cooking, cooling, reheating, hot holding, and processing as well as facility and signage requirements, and compliance with the Smoke-Free Air Act. All Notices of violation are returnable to the Department's Administration Tribunal.
The following summarizes the Department of Health's activity with the Inter Agency Task Force for the period beginning 7/ 27/96 to present.
