Partner With Enrollers — Share the Responsibility

Again, enrolling people in public health insurance is not easy. Talk to our office about partnering with enrollers. They have the needed marketing expertise and their involvement will help reduce your workload.

NYCHA is just beginning a pilot program with several healthplans in several of their housing developments where the healthplans will be responsible for conducting the necessary outreach to residents. This will lessen the staff burden for NYCHA.

Partner with Other City Agencies

Agencies have found it helpful to pair up with one or more agencies with complementary strengths. This is occurring at the central level as well as at the local level.

Examples of cooperation at the central level include: The Board of Education and the Department of Health school health program have joined forces to refer school children Corrections are working for health insurance.
