These Police and Fire Uniformed Public Safety Employees participate in the New York City Police 2 Department, Subchapter Two Pension Fund ("POLICE") and the New York City Fire Department, Subchapter Two Pension ("FIRE"), respectively.

Attached in Appendix A is some statistical information on these groups of employees.

Also enclosed in Appendix A are some statistics on the Firefighters who have been reported dead or missing.

In response to the question raised, following is an illustration of the hypothetical family wage-related income for a Firefighter before and after death in the line of duty.

The Firefighter is assumed to be a 35-year old male with seven years of service at date of death, a salary of $60,000 per year as a Firefighter and other part-time no

employment with a wife working outside the home earning $30,000 and two children ages 5 and S.

1. Annual Wage-Related Income before Line-of-Duty Death

• Employee Wages $ 60,000 • wife Wages 30,000
