Thus we are asking for the City Administration to assist us in requesting that the National Security Agencies review the current situation, and endorse our plan, which requests very limited access to only two of the three heliports.
In these times of severe restrictions on ground transportation access, the necessity and value of helicopter access to Manhattan by the business community and their clients, is more important than ever. If helicopter access to Manhattan continues to be unavailable, it would be counter productive to the Mayor's desire for recovery, and business as usual As previously indicated by the New York E.D.C., the heliports, and related helicopter activities contribute an estimated 160 million dollars to the City economy each year. We desire nothing more than to continue to contribute to the City's economic base, as we have for over 50 years.
After your review of the attached, should you have any questions, require any additional information, or our presence at any meeting, please let me know.
We stand ready to do our part in helping our city recover, however we must have access to the heliports to do so.
