Re: Proposed Scope of Work In the elevator shaft, on the entrance landing and roof at 150
Franklin Strut, NYC.
Dear Mr. Lutchmediall;
I am submitting for your approval a work plan for the emergency clean up of asbestos
containing dust from the elevator shaft at the above address. We propose the following;
1. Clean up will be performed by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor using NYC PEP and
NYS DOL Certified Asbestos Handlers.
2. Work area will be defined as the roof entrance landing and elevator shaft
3. An airlock will be consitucted at the doorway to the elevator machine room in the basement
and on the rooL
4. All electric will be supplied by the building and all extension cords will have ground fault

6. Critical barriers will be placed in the basement of the elevator shaft and on the skylight
7. Area air monitoring and OSHA monitoring will be performed during the clean up,
8. Upon achieving visual clearance on all floors of the elevator shaft TEM air sampling will be
performed on each floor.
9. All removal and air monitoring will be performed in accordance with NYC Title 15, Chapter
1.
10. All clearance air sampling and waste manifests will be forwarded to the building owner upon
completion.
11. An Emergency Notification will be sent to the NYC PEP within 24 hours of the start of the
project. The Notification will be for the emergency clean up of 8,500 square feet of asbestos
containing dust.
