Re: Hazmat clean-up, 125 Cedar St., New York, NY

Dear Ms. Perez:

As you will recall, I am a tenant in the penthouse at 125 Cedar St., New York, NY. We are all most grateful for the work done by the DEP to clean our homes and allow our safe return.

I am writing to request a letter from you explaining why it was necessary that we detach our built-ins from the walls of our apartment prior to clean-up. I am advised that the American Red Cross may assist us with the cost of putting those built-ins back together if we have a letter from the DEP explaining that the clean-up could not achieve the desired results unless you were able to clean the areas where the dust had gathered behind the built ins.

You may address the letter "to whom it may concern" and can send the letter to me at the above address. I know this creates an additional work burden for you, and therefore appreciate deeply any assistance you may be able to provide. Again, many thanks.

Very truly yours,

Mark Scherzer
