waste decontamination unit where it shall be wet wiped and sealed with an
additional two layers of 6-mil plastic sheeting. The sealed carpet section shall be
transported out of the facility to an approved waste container for appropriate
disposal.
10. After carpeting has been removed from the full enclosure(s), all surfaces within
all
the full enclosure(s) shall be cleaned using wet methods and HEPA vacuum.
11. The two layers of 6 mil plastic sheeting covering the seating systems shall remain
in place until the auditorium has undergone general cleaning, passed a visual
inspection for dust/debris and passed clearance criteria for lead in dust.
AIR MONITORING PROTOCOL:
1. During the removal of the carpet within the full enclosure(s), air-samples will be
collected inside the full enclosure(s). These samples will be analyzed via TEM
(AHERA Protocol).
2. Outside work area air samples will be collected during the preparation, cleaning and
carpet removal phases of the project to evaluate any asbestos fiber release from
the work area. These samples will be analyzed via TEM (AHERA Protocol).
3. After all work has been completed within the full enclosure(s), a thorough visual
inspection will be conducted by the third party consultant to ensure that no visible
dust/debris remain.
