September 17, 2001 Mr. William Dacunto Silverstein Properties, Inc. 1 M0C(ET;)2E'4 2001 BY iLli 140 Broadway New York, NY 10005 RE: Various Floors Dear Mr. Dacunto, I am enclosing the Laboratory Analysis for the ambient air samples collected from Northwestern and Southwestern portions of the 49th, 47th, 45th, 43rd, 41St, 40th, 38th, 36th, 34th, 32nd, 30th, 28th, 26th, 24th, 22nd and the Southwest and Southeast sections of the lobby within the building located at 140 Broadway, New York, NY during September 15-16, 2001. Air sampling was conducted utilizing 0.45 micron pore size, polycarbonate sampling cassettes employing high volume air samdpling pumps. Samples were collected of representative "fresh air" at both the 3` and 35th Floors during normal building activities. A minimum of One Thousand Three Hundred (1300) liters of air was collected to provide a detection limit below 0.0027 struct/cc (structures per cubic centimeter). All samples were pre- and post-calibrated by means of a precision rotometer that had been calibrated with a primary standard. Sampling blanks were collected and submitted with each group of samples analyzed. Air sample analysis was according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defined methodologies with results reported as structures of asbestos detected. Laboratory Analysis was performed by an ELAP approved and NVLAP accredited laboratory. Laboratory analysis for each collected sample from each floor and area indicated no detected asbestos structures.
