Re: 74 Trinity Place, New York, NY

Dear Mr. Radhakrishnan:

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) is the environmental consultant representing the owner of the captioned location. On their behalf, PSI is responding to your inquiry concerning sampling results following the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Please be advised that the captioned location is a twenty seven-story building that was closed immediately after September 11, 2001, and reopened shortly thereafter. PSI performed ambient air monitoring for asbestos on selected floors at the building on several occasions. Results of the air sampling and chain of custody forms are included for December 7, 2001, and January 29, 2002. Air samples were collected from representative floors and submitted for analysis by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) in accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) methodology. The samples were analyzed by EMSL of New York City which is certified by the New York State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP # 11506). The results indicate levels below those allowed for clearance sampling by AHERA following abatement in schools. While AHERA regulations are not applicable to this situation, PSI chose this method, as it is generally considered to be the most stringent industry standard.

No bulk samples were collected, to PSI's knowledge. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
