The staff of the Landmarks Preservation Commission recently
received a t+eq>pes~ Eó review a proposal for work
at the subject premises. The proposed work consists of ~
cleaning the exterior of building of debris
related to the collapse of the World Trade Center,
including removing all loose .4 I*is using,.on the
horizontal surfaces, non-metallic bristle brushes or scrapers,
followed up by wet;l ping and a low pressure
water rinse of not more than 250 PSI, and, as described in
specifications prepared he City of New York
Department of Environmental Protection and submitted as
components of thi9 46- ccation.
Staff has reviewed these specifications and finds that
the work on the facade i1 for require the removal
of any significant material; that it will not detract from the
the streetscape, and that cleating the facade will bring the architectural cbaracce±f the building or
building closer to its b ioric appearance.
Therefore, the Commission has no objection to the work
proceeding at this time, Rr the issuance of permits
by any other city agency.
A copy of this permit have been sent to the City of New
York Department of Environmental Protection.
