The staff of the Landmarks Preservation Commission recently received a request; t':review a;proposal for work at the.subject premises. The proposed work consists of cleaning the exterior of tie wilding, including the facade and roof, of debris related to the collapse of the World Trade Center, inclupinttg, at the. facade, removing all loose debris using, on the horizontal surfaces, non-metallic bristle l shes or scrapers, followed up by wet wiping and a low pressure water rinse of not more than 230 *SI; and, at the roof, collecting all loose debris, washing Ioose gravel, and wet wiping other surfaces, described: in specifications prepared the City of New York Department of Environmental Prof tion and submitted as components of this application.

Staff has reviewed these specifications and finds that the work on the facade indi+ of will not require the removal of any significant protected material; that it will not detract from the ardliitl ctural character of the building or the streetscape, and that cleaning the facade will bring the buildi 7... .Closer t6 its historic appearance. Therefore, the Commission has no objection to the work proceedingtTthis time; or the issuance of permits by any other city agency.
