Mr. Bernard P. Orlan November 25, 2002 Wipe Samples for Dioxins Page 2 H, S. of Economics & Finance (M833) ATC Proiect No. 15-19125-0291

LOC'.K nON/SAMPI.11 NT MBER _________ ______________ Main Lobby/DXl 0.00032 5th Floor Lobby/DX2 0.000066 10th Floor Lobby/DX3 0.0040

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) established guidelines for dioxin for the re-occupancy of the Binghamton State Office Building following a PCB fire. The NYSDOH guideline for dioxin on surfaces is 25 ng/m^.

The concentrations on indoor surfaces ranged from 0.000075 ng/m^ to 0.00030 ng/m^. The levels found in these samples are below the NYSDOH guideline of 25 ng/m^.

It is not possible to determine when the 2, 3, 7, 8 - TCDD equivalents detected in these samples were deposited. Dioxin samples were not collected from this school prior to January 14,2002.

It is our pleasure to provide these indoor environmental services to the NYC Department of Education. If you have any questions about this report, please call (212) 353-8280, extension 212.

Sincerely, ATC Associates, Inc.
