Mr. Bernard P. Orlan July 17, 2002 Air Sampling for Metals Page 2 Stuyvesant High School (M477) ATC Project No. 15-19125-0246

Zinc was found in the second floor bridge entrance (Sample #ATC-0626-STY-M2) at a concentration of 0.562 ug/m\ Zinc was not detected in the blanks. No other metals were found above the limits of detection.

The Environmental Protection Agency has recommended a screening level for hexavalent Cr (the more toxic form) of 0.6 micrograms per cubic meter of air (0.6 ug/m’) based on continuous exposure for one year. These samples were analyzed for total Cr. The levels detected were below the EPA screening level.

The EPA has no screening level for zinc.

ATC appreciates the opportunity to provide this indoor air quality service to the BOE. Please call (212) 353-8280 extension 212 if you have any questions.

Sincerely, ATC Associates, Inc. Reviewed
