FLOOR WARDEN’S AGENCY DUTIES
In the event of a fire emergency, a floor warden at 7 World Trade Center shall:
1. Make certain that an alarm has been transmitted to the Fire Command Station on the 3rd
floor lobby.
2. Make certain that all Deputy Floor Wardens on his/her floor have been informed of the
Are and that all occupants of the floor are notifled and proceed immediately to the nearest
stairway.
3. Proceed to and remain at the warden phone in the corridor. From there he/she will
maintain communication with the Fire Safety Director and receive, coordinate and give
instructions.
4. Supervise the evacuation of all occupants of the floor via stairway, unless otherwise
instructed by the Fire Department (with assistance of Deputy Floor Warden) to a safe
area of refuge at least three (3) floors below the fire floor.
5. In the evacuation of handicapped persons, insure that they are assisted from the office
area to a safe stairwell. At that point members of the responding fire brigade and
evacuation coordinators will remove these individuals to at least three floors below the
fire floor.
6. To insure that all known occupants have been evacuated from the floor, use a check list
indicating each deputy floor warden and searcher and his/her area of responsibility.
Check each Deputy Floor Warden and Searcher as his/her office is evacuated.
