2.06 FIRE EXTINGUISHER:
A. Provide type "A" fire extinguisher for temporary offices and similar spaces where there is minimal danger of electrical or grease-oil-flammable liquid fires. In other areas, provide type "ABC" dry chemical extinguisher of NFPA recommended types for the exposure in each case. All fire extinguisher shall comply with the applicable recommendations of NFPA Standard 10, "Standard for Portable Extinguisher". Provide a minimum of four (4) fire extinguisher in each work area, one (1) in the equipment room of each decontamination unit and one (1) outside the work area in each clean room or directly outside the same. Locate fire extinguishers where they are most effective for their intended purpose, but do not exceed seventy-five feet (75') between fire extinguishers within the work area.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 SCAFFOLDING:
A. Clean, as necessary, debris from non-slip surfeces.
B. At the completion of abatement work clean all construction aids within the work area, wrap in one layer of 6 mil polyethylene sheet, and seal before removal from the Work Area.
3.02 INSTALLATION, GENERAL:
A. Use qualified tradesmen, with valid restricted asbestos handling licenses (as required), for installation of temporary services and facilities. Locate temporary services and facilities where they will serve the entire project adequately and result in minimum interference with the performance of the work.
B. Require that tradesmen accomplishing this work be licensed as required by local authority for the work performed.
C. Relocate, modify and extend services and facilities as required during the course of work so as to accommodate the entire work of the project.
D. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner for connection to existing building utilities. No Connections shall be executed without prior approval of the Owner.
3.03 WATER SERVICE:
A. Water connection to the Owner's existing potable water system is the responsibility of the Contractor. Install using vacuum breakers or other backflow preventer as required by local authority. Hot water shall be supplied at a minimum temperature of 100°F. Supply hot and cold water to the Decontamination Unit in accordance with Section 11. In addition, water shall be supplied for all worksite uses.
B. Maintain hose connections and outlet valves in leak proof condition. Where finished work below an outlet might be damaged by spillage or leakage, provide a drip pan of suitable size to minimize the possibility of water damage. Drain water promptly from pans as it accumulates.
