broken off flush with the wall. How can I replace it
without tearing out the tile wall?
A. There is a small, fairly inexpensive tool called a
stub wrench or nipple extractor. It has a tapered
toothed tip that you push into the pipe and turn it
counterclockwise to remove what’s left of the pipe.
Once removed, you can just install a new pipe and
spout.

Q. My basement has been moist this summer, and
some books I had been sav
ing got a little mildew on
them. Can I get rid of the
SUPERHANDYMAN smell somehow?
A. Try sprinkling be- -
tween the pages with
cornstarch. Allow the cornstarch enough time to ab
sorb and draw the mildew out, and then gently vac
uum it away.
