Farm Vendors Get a New Spot, in Brooklyn ■ • The greenmarket outside Brooklyn’s Bor- 6ugh Hall is open on Tuesdays and Satur days. But yesterday, passersby saw the f^iliar tents of ... a greenmarket? The farmers who were there had lost their usual spot at the World Trade Center. ‘'The Council on the Environment of New York City, which runs the city’s greenmar kets, is scrambling to find new locations for 43 farmers displaced from the attack site and from markets that subsequently closed urTriBeCa, Bowling Green, and Dag Ham- raarskjold Plaza. Borough Hall has added Thursdays to accommodate them. , '“They just decided to get us something, somewhere to go,” said Kemie Kernan, who feft behind his stands, scales, money and produce when he fled the trade center on Sept. 11. The farmers at the 12 stands there that day all escaped unharmed, although some also lost their trucks. . - Business in the new location has been fair, {4r. Kernan said, but “nothing like the World Trade Center,” where for 18 years his family had built up a clientele. “A lot of the customers, I know,” he said. “I hope most of them are all right.” TARA BAHRAMPOUR
